Most of you know I do a lot of trade shows for the photo lab where I work. And while the swag that you get at trade shows has dropped recently (in both quality and quantity), this cute squeeze toy from Western Digital reminds me to back up! in a cute way. We’ve talked about the importance of digital scrapbookers backing up before, but it’s always good to stress the point again.
Go do it now. Your memories are precious – make sure they are preserved for the future. Back them up today. Right Now.
Remember that we like and use Mozy for our on-line backup. (affiliate link)
And Amazon.com always seems to have good deals on hard drives.(affiliate link) Jenn really likes her Western Digital Passport Drive
because it’s small, lots of space, and “it’s cute”. I like them because they are a good value for the money.
So please – do it now. Backup those important and priceless pictures, layouts and all the rest of your digital life that you treasure. You’ll thank me in the future. Leave a comment letting us know you backed it up!

LOL! Stan – I can’t tell you how much your “warning” to back up (esp in the CS Digital Photo class I took from you) really saved me. Your recommendation to backup on MULTIPLE sources proved invaluable to me back in January. I had assumed that everything was automatically been backing up automatically to my Apple Time Machine – and then my Mac had a catastrophic crash. I came to find out that the the files on the Time Machine were corrupted and unretrievable (and same for the computer’s HD). Fortunately, I had taken your advice to heart from class, and had also backed up to separate external HD as well as to DVD – which saved me! And you also made me a convert to Mozy. I now back up to 4 sources (which may be over-kill, but hey – better safe than sorry
; new Time Machine HD (daily), portable external HD (monthly), Mozy (daily) and still to DVD (monthly). Sage and smart advice you gave; and I am most grateful!
