We’ve been having a great, lively class the past two weeks at Scrappers Workshop. Jenn and I and 6 students are in week two of our 4 week Digital Photography Master Class (see details here). One of the subjects we’ve been talking about is using a high f/stop or aperture to get maximum depth of field (meaning a lot is in focus). Why would you want to do that? Well, most landscapes you would want everything in focus; another would be large groups of people. But here are some funny, quirky pictures that use really deep depth of field and the camera’s force perspective to give you an out of the ordinary look at the world!

Funny aren’t they? We’ve done some of these type of pictures before but not as successful as these. Leave us a comment with your thoughts!

I LOVE THESE!
We’ve tried to do something similar, with my girls holding the Statue of Liberty in their hands, but I can never get it lined up correctly or the perspective is wrong and it always winds up looking ridiculous.
I love alexandre duart’s photo above – it’s my favorite.
I also like the one from toastforbreekie, but I’m not even going to mention the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw it.

Bullfrogs is what popped into your mind…
A tripod makes these pictures much easier to do. Since it requires such precise alignment, taking the camera moving out of it is a big help.
You know me a little too well, Stan.

Oh wow! These are great! I have to try this.
First – Oh man, Junkie! So right! Your class is just amazing and everyone should take it. I want to take one here at the local college but it requires an SLR so it will have to wait. But I think I get as much out of yours as I will ever get out of the college.

Yeah now if someone would pay me to go to this location and do this shot! We definitely can’t do thus shot it Tennessee – no snow ever. Certainly not a glacier which is what it looks like they are standing on.
These are great!
