No, we’re not off to the dentist today! I’ve got a great little tip for those of you using PS on a computer running the Vista OS.
Have you ever been looking for a file in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements by going to File>Open… and the viewing window is really small? You have to scroll up and down to browse through all the files you need to see, which is frustrating.
But did you know that you can make that window go full screen by double clicking on the blue bar at the top? That will let you see so much more at one glance, and when you’re ready to go back to the small view you can just double click on the bar again. ![]()
This works only in Vista, but on all programs (at least on everything I have installed) that use the File> Open command. I haven’t had a chance to try it in Windows 7, but I’m guessing it will work there too. Might be time to consider upgrading from XP finally, if Windows 7 turns out to be ok (anybody using it, what do you think?).

Didn’t know that Jenn… I’ll have to give it a go.
Have a great Thanksgiving.
You always come up with such great tips! Thanks I’m going to try this.
Here’s some additional info – Using a Windows XP machine, it works in Excel, Word and just browsing folders. It does not work in Photoshop CS3 or CS4. Guess we all have to upgrade to Vista! Any one using Windows 7 yet?
