I’ve been using PSE a lot more lately, as that’s what we use at the middle school where I help with the yearbook. One thing that is frustrating
me mightily is the set of drop shadows that is available! What on earth are they supposed to be good for? Not scrapbooking, that’s for sure.
So, I popped open my PS and created a set of shadows using my favorite settings, and saved it for you! Click HERE or on the image at right to DL.
I have 9 settings, of which you will probably use 4 or 5 regularly. I included three styles that let the shadow show ever so slightly on the ”non-shadow” side of the element, so as to set it off from a similarly colored background. I find this gives my printed layouts a great realistic look! I always get a giggle when I catch a skeptical paper scrapper touching my book with a finger to see if it’s paper or printed!
I’ve named them by what size element they will work well on, but you’re not limited to that. Try them out and see what works for you. Installation instructions are included in a README .pdf that’s included.
I’ll be curious to see if you find these helpful. If you do, please feel free to pass on a link to this post so that others can be spared the drudgery of hand-tweaking every shadow on the page! And leave me a comment so I know what you think!
Happy Scrapping!

Hi Jenn… I was so excited about these shadows – but there is nothing there when I click on either place.
