Whew! What a weekend! It poured rain here, and I was not able to make it to Atlanta for the DSP girls’ crop
But I sent them some goodies and was able to join them virtually for a speed scrap crop. And I learned something.
I’m a slow scrapper, it can take an entire evening to get a layout done, so trying to do one in an hour or two was excruciating! Not to mention getting the instructions a bit at a time, and not knowing what was coming next – it was impossible to made decisions.
Nobody was ‘chatting’; everybody was working, so the part of the crop I like best – getting to meet new people – was really hard to do! So…. no more speed scraps for me!
I’m looking to start a regular chat here, and was considering the speed scrap format since I see a lot of sites doing them, but I think now that’s out. So what do you guys think?
Do you guys like to crop together? Am I the only person incapable of scrapping and chatting at the same time? What would you like in a crop? Is it all about the freebies? Do you want games and prizes? (Anyone who used to come to my Feeling Scrappy crops at SOTB knows I’m the queen of the crop games!) Would you like to learn something? A challenge? What day/time works best for you?
If you don’t go to chats, why not? What would make you want to go?
I’m dying to hear what you think, and see what you were able to make in a speed scrap crop. Post in the gallery and link us up in the comments and tell us what you thought!
Hope everyone’s not TOO broke – enjoy playing with all your new goodies and HAPPY SCRAPPING!

I am chuckling at your post. I LOVE speed scraps! I am addicted to them. I did them before I did anything else in the digiworld. Sometimes, they are a huge huge challenge, and still, there are times I dont finish. But its about the fun and the challenge to learn something new and to stretch yourself… quickly! I love the speed scraps I attend because of the chats too. I usually chat the first hour then scrap fast the second hour.
Another chat type that I have seen around lately is scrap and chat! No pressure… just talk (type) and scrap. Can’t wait to see what you all come up with.
simply sarah’s last blog post..Earth Day!
I don’t like speed scraps. I like chatting, playing games and generally hanging out at crops. I hope you decide to have scrap and chats!
I like learning new things, so feel free to have a tut. chat.
By the way, Michelle has moved her Monday night scrap to Scraphead and you are welcome to come! Hint! Hint!
I can’t chat & crop at the same time. I do go to speed chats some mostly it is because it gets my creative juices flowing. Sometimes I don’t like the finished product, but will like the general ideas. So then I go back & re-work it to my own liking.
I’m all for a chat when I learn stuff.

I am not good at speed chats. I just can’t get a decent layout together that fast. When I do make a LO I like i t to be nice.
Also I have trouble with chatting and scrapping. Mostly I like tutorials and possibly a few days to make a LO from the tutorial
I am not good at chats at all! I get so lost. I do like to learn new things though and would be willing to try a chat with tuts.
Love your posts and I too wanted badly to attend the Atlanta DSP crop for Scrapbook Day, which in my opinion should be a national paid holiday!! Would love to see chats and online crops….My main interest is to learn something….I want to learn all I can to make my pages look good. Thanks for all your posts and tips and hints, etc. You all are the best!! Have a blessed day.
Brenda Fain’s last blog post..3 more new digi pages…5 for this week… I love vacations…
Speed Scrap crops are not for me either. I dont work fast enough. I do think other chats, like the ones you mentioned, sound like alot of fun!
