Did you know you have one of the best resources for learning digital photography staring you in the face?

If you are reading this, you’re likely using a computer – and the computer can hook you up to

Man, do I love YouTube.  Not just for the sheer fact that if I want to see silly, disgusting, inspirational, informative videos 24/7 I can, but also for the sheer volume of free (and good) videos on digital photography available.

And I love learning visually – YouTube videos brings the visual (as well as sound) right to you – to learn at your own pace on any subject you might like.

Here’s some videos on digital photography that really caught my attention:

Great one about Light – types of light and how to use it for your photography-

A valuable one on Composition – with great examples-

A clear and simple explanation of how to get better flash pictures -really good!

and Inspiration – how photography can change our world-

(I’ll wait while we both wipe away the tears).

Now don’t get me wrong – a lot of videos are thinly veiled sales pitches with little content , for the sole purpose of getting you to buy something – like a photography class or DVD. And there is a lot of garbage too – just bad instruction. But so much of it is quality and free – you gotta love it!

I’ll leave you with one of my favorite videos:

Stan brings to the site a long career in the photo industry from working as a professional photographer to 13 years with Kodak to his present position asDirector or Marketing with Advanced Photographic Solutions color lab.Having spent all his adult life in the photo industry, Stan discovered the wild world of digiscrap through wife Jenn (better known as ScrapKitty Design). Even 12 years of teaching Photoshop and digital imaging to photographers didn't prepare him for the wild and wooly world of digi-crops, so he sticks to teaching classes and writing about photography and PS/PSE on their blog www.scrappersworkshop.com/blog. Stan and Jenn are transplanted Yankees in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, and would not live in lake effect snow again if you paid them.
