We’re so glad you’ve decided to try digital scrapbooking! While it might seem intimidating at first, stick with it and you won’t believe what you’ll be able to accomplish. To help you get started, we’ve assembled some resources for you.
New Digiscrappers’ FAQ – no question is too stupid, read what others have asked before and add your own questions. (coming soon) Have a question? See Support section below.
Software – we recommend new scrappers start out with Photoshop Elements. You can download a 30 day free trial HERE. It is not necessary to use the latest version, you will be able to follow our tutorials with versions as far back as PSE4. (Or maybe even earlier – if you have an earlier version, give it a try!)
Supplies – to get you started, we have a couple of FREE KITS available for download. Click HERE to download to your computer. If you need help unzipping them, read our FAQ page for instructions.
Support – we love when you ask us questions! You can CONTACT US HERE or post a question in our forums. Either way we will get back to you as soon as possible with an answer. We also have a Facebook page HERE where you will find links to information. Our BLOG offers tips and tricks, as well as links to useful stuff.
Tutorials – CLICK HERE to download our “Your First Layout in PSE” tutorial. This tut covers the digiscrap process from opening the program to saving your work. Once you’ve worked through that one, visit our TUTORIALS page for more lessons in various techniques.
Classes – a great way to get started is a LIVE class! We teach using a gotomeeting.com account, and it’s easy to join us. You’ll get the most out of your experience if you have a headset (headphones with a microphone attached). These are available at Wal-Mart and other stores for around $15. If you have a laptop with a microphone, you can use that, but we ask that you listen on headphones or earbuds, as the speakers feed-back into the microphone and give us echoes. If you have neither, you can still participate! You will hear everyone else talking on your computer’s speakers (or your headphones/earbuds) but will need to type your comments/questions into the chat window so we can all see what you have to say! Many people do that and it works just fine.
Our class offerings change monthly, so check into the store from time to time to see what’s new. If you don’t see a class on a topic you’re interested in, drop us an email and let us know. If we have enough interest we will bring it on board.
